In the Sanatana Hindu tradition, japa (chanting the divine name) holds great importance. When devotees chant the Lord’s name with a unified resolve, it transforms into a “Japa Yajna”, bestowing peace, health, prosperity, courage, and mental tranquility. The chant “Śrī Durgāyai Namaḥ” awakens the inner strength, devotion, and divine energy within us, thereby strengthening our national consciousness. Śrī Durgā Parameśwari is the divine manifestation of Bhāratamātā; this campaign also specially commemorates 150 years of the composition of Vande Mātaram, which praises Her as “Tvaṁ hi Durgā Daśapraharana Dhāriṇī.”
The “Sri Durga Japa Yajna Abhiyana – 2026” will be conducted from 1 December 2025 to 31 December 2025. Devotees from India and abroad can participate from their homes by chanting the mantra 108 times daily for at least 10 days (a total of 1080 chants). With the collective spiritual power of thousands of devotees, the total japa is expected to surpass one crore (10 million) chants across the nation.
The Purnahuti will be held on 1 January 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Kateel Sri Durga Parameswari Temple, accompanied by the sacred Sri Durga Homa. Participate with your family and receive the divine blessings of Mother Durgā.
